Xiaomi, Huawei and other Chinese smartphone manufacturers have teamed up to create a single fast charging standard

It will reduce the cost of development and reduce e-waste.

Key Chinese brands-Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, Vivo and Oppo-signed a document on the “Universal specification of fast charging for mobile devices,” writes Gizmochina.
The initiative was also supported by the manufacturer of microcontrollers Rockchip and the Chinese Academy of Information and Communication Technologies (CAICT). At the moment, the parties are agreeing on the details and may come to unification in the near future.
A single standard will reduce the cost of development and contribute to the reduction of electronic waste. Users will no longer have to worry about the compatibility of the charger with the new smartphone.
In May 2021, Xiaomi revealed its own HyperCharge fast charging device. The company said it charges a 4,000 mAh battery in eight minutes on a wire and 15 minutes without a wire.
