WhatsApp will stop working on some older smartphones from December 31

Users of a number of iPhone and Android models need to back up their messages.

The WhatsApp service has warned users to stop working on some older models of iPhone and Android smartphones on New Year’s Eve. By December 31, owners of phones running on the iOS and Android operating systems need to back up their messages or upgrade to iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 if they want to continue using the popular messaging service in 2021.

First of all, owners of the iPhone 4 and other early versions of Apple gadgets that cannot be upgraded to the iOS 9 operating system need to take care of data storage. This applies to the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S models.

OS below Android 4.0.3 is also at risk. According to briminghamlive, to save the history of communication, you need to open each chat that is important to save, and click the “Group Information” button. Next, select the “Export chat” command, and you can upload information, but without multimedia files.
