Trekking Holidays – What To Bring With

What are trekking holidays? To start with, the word trek is one of the few to come from Afrikaans, which is a daughter language of Dutch. Coming from their word trekken, which means to pull or haul, the word trek itself means long, hard journey.

You might think no way do I want to do that for my vacation! I am going to relax and do nothing. Just think about how nice it would be to exercise and have fun. Exercise reduces stress and makes you feel better. Getting back to nature and getting in touch with yourself can be just what the doctor ordered.

When you are on your trekking holidays you will enjoy all of the beauty that nature as to offer. You will be able to enjoy the wild life and the sounds that you do not even notice any other time. You will have time to yourself to think and reconnect with yourself. It will be the most relaxing time that you can imagine.

When embarking on trekking holidays, there are a few things that are vital to bring:

1 – Backpack – you will want to make sure you choose a backpack that is sturdy enough to carry all of your needs, but comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time.

2 – The second thing that you must take is a water pack. While you are trekking you will need plenty of water to drink. The water pack needs to carry plenty of water for you and be something that you can get to easily.

3 – The third thing that you will need is protein bars – they will give you energy. You want to pick a bar that is full of fiber and high in protein. You do not want ones that are full of sugar. It is important to have energy that will last.

4 – The fourth thing that you must get is bug spray. You will need to protect yourself against bug bites, and you might run across something that bites or stings. Be sure that it is water proof so that you will not sweat it off. Also be sure to use it often so that you remain protected.

5 – Sun Tan Lotion – The sun is extremely good for you, in that it is the source of your body’s ability to make Vitamin D (a very important hormone). However, just like anything else, there can be too much of a good thing. Make sure you protect all exposed areas of your skin with a quality sunscreen. For extra protection, get some zinc for your face, and don’t forget your ears (and any bald spots)!

Now you know what you need to bring with you to make your trekking holidays a success. It’s time to have some fun.
