Google launched its first Android based phone by the name T-Mobile G1. It has a 3.2 inch touch screen with HVGA output and also features a unique side slide QWERTY keypad. The specification list of T-Mobile G1 is not the most attractive because Google had its main focus on making a phone with a fast operating system. So the G1 may be low on the features end, but the user interface and its processing speed is impressive.
The T-Mobile G1 has physical dimensions 117 x 55.7 x 17.1 and weighs around 158 grams. So it is a large sized phone with a unique design which includes a tilted chin and a side slide QWERTY keypad. The front of the phone has 4 buttons and one trackball just below the screen. The trackball serves the navigation purpose. The display of G1 is much better than other phones of same category as it is produces sharp contrast and different brightness levels. It also has remarkable sunlight legibility i.e. the information on screen is clearly visible in different light intensities.
The Android OS in T-Mobile G1 is a very intuitive and fun to use. One thing to be noticed about the Android OS is that it runs all the applications simultaneously and even if an application is closed the OS restores it to the same position when executed for the next time.
The camera has a 3 MP sensor and produces pictures with impressive quality with minimum noise levels. Similar to all other android phone T-Mobile G1 also lacks the video recording feature. The G1 stands well in providing amazing web browsing experience. Being an Android phone, you can surf through pages and manage them easily. Talking of connectivity the G1 comes packed with Bluetooth 2.0, mini USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and HSDPA 7.2 mbps.
To summarize we will say that the T-Mobile G1 is a phone with fast Operating System and interactive UI but you will have to compromise on features list if you plan to buy it. This is still a phone well worth your consideration.
