The iPhone 12 became the world’s best—selling 5g-enabled smartphone in October, followed by the iPhone 12 Pro. According to Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 12 became the best-selling 5g-enabled smartphone worldwide in October of this year. The smartphone took 16% of the global market for 5G smartphones, the second place was taken by the iPhone 12 Pro with a result of 8%.
The closest competitor was the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, which gained 4%. Completing the top ten are three Huawei models, two Oppo smartphones, and two more Samsung smartphones, which are listed in the chart below.
Compared to most other 5G — enabled smartphones on the market, the iPhone 12 has a wider market reach-it’s available in more than 140 countries. Demand for smartphones is high, and data for November and December indicate that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are in higher demand than the standard iPhone 12 model. However, the iPhone 12 Pro Max was released in November, so it is not included in the rating.
According to the forecast, the new iPhone 12 smartphones will continue to sell well in the new year, as well as set records for the fourth quarter, especially during the holiday season in December. Apple’s strong sales will also boost sales in the premium segment, increasing the global average price of smartphones.
