Huawei sold the Honor brand to industry partners in November to save it from U.S. sanctions.
The German division of the company on Twitter announced that the Honor smartphones will again be delivered with Google services. The statement was made after the announcement of the Honor 50 line based on the Snapdragon 778G chipset.
At the time of publication of the note, the tweet is not available. However, two sources close to the partners of Kommersant confirmed that the new Honor 50 smartphones will receive Google services. Honor’s Russian office declined to comment, and Google did not respond.
During the months of “independence”, the company settled all the formalities and concluded contracts, the message on Twitter said. Agreements have been reached not only with Google on the GSM version of Android, but also with Qualcomm on the supply of next-generation chips.
The official presentation of the Honor 50 family will take place in June 2021. According to preliminary data, the series will include three models-the basic Honor 50 and the more powerful Honor 50 Pro and Honor 50 Pro +.
